Advanced Exercise Science and Personal Training



Brief Description:
This course explains how different body systems work together to keep an individual alive and healthy and how you can maintain and strengthen them by exercising regularly and eating a healthy balanced diet. In order to successfully complete the course delegates must have the knowledge of the physiological changes and adaptations that take place during activity, and be able to apply this knowledge to different types of individuals and sports.

Learning Outcomes:
It is important to understand how the body works before making lifestyle changes.  Once you understand how the body responds to exercise and diet, you can then set yourself realistic and achievable health and fitness goals as an exercise scientist.
After completion of the course, delegates will be able to compile a practical work document that addresses special populations. Delegates will also have a sound and sufficient working knowledge of sport specific fitness, goal setting, management, resistance and relevant training techniques.

•  Managing in the Sports Environment

Entry Requirements:
Candidates must have a matric certificate as well as a clean medical certificate and a qualification related to fitness and exercise. Alternatively they must have successfully completed the Online Course in Higher Exercise Science and Personal Training.
